How do you deal with being out of state from your mother while pregnant?

My wife has recently become concerned with the idea of becoming pregnant with our child while she's in a different state than her mother. We live 650 miles away, and while my family's here, it's not gonna be the same; I understand that.

It would be our first kid and her first grandkid. We are happy where we're at, but they (understandably) want to be closer together. Has anyone else dealt with something like this? Even if not, any advice on how to handle this situation? How do you deal with being out of state from your mother while pregnant?
It hard being away from our moms when pregnant, specially when its your first. You want to be able to share our feelings, the first ultrasound, other prenatal appts, the first kicks, the growing belly. And there is only so much you can share over the phone and email. Its tough. Im 900 miles away and although it was my second pregnancy (3rd child) it was my most normal pregnancy and i missed her very much. But we still got to share it. Take lots of pictures of her growing belly, send ultrasound photos, talk on the phone alot, send tons of emails. Its ok to be upset or scared, but its alright. I couldnt be closer to my family as we're military and my parents have jobs and other family members back home so i get wanting to be closer but things happen where you cant. I would just try and get her to understand its ok, there are still ways to share the experience even with the distance between her and her mother. Good Luck. How do you deal with being out of state from your mother while pregnant?
Invite her parents down around the due date and hope for the best. Many woman have children everyday away from both sets of parents she is lucky to have yours. Sounds like she maybe scared so she may need a little more love and support through this.
